This policy explains what personal information I collect through megmakes.me, how I use it and who I share it with. megmakes.me is run by Megan Clark (ABN 42 868 473 568) in Western Australia. Last updated 14 October 2026.
1. What I collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, billing address, phone number (if you give it) and what you ordered.
- Payments: PayPal handles card and PayPal payments, so I never see or store your card details. For bank transfers I see the payment details your bank sends with the transfer.
- Your account: if you create one, your email address, a password (stored securely – I can’t see it), your orders and downloads.
- The newsletter: your email address and which part of the site you signed up from (for example, clay).
- The contact form: your name, email address and whatever you tell me in your message.
- Automatically: like most websites, the site and its hosting record technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, and use cookies (see section 4).
2. How I use it
- To process your order, deliver your downloads and help if something goes wrong.
- To send you emails about your order and your account.
- To reply when you get in touch.
- To send you my newsletter, but only if you’ve signed up for it. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure and working properly.
- To meet my legal and tax record-keeping obligations.
I don’t sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
3. Who I share it with
I use a few trusted services to run the shop. They only get the information they need to do their job:
- PayPal – to process payments.
- Brevo – to send the site’s emails and my newsletter, and to store my mailing list.
- Pantheon – hosts the website.
- Cloudflare – runs the domain and helps keep the site secure.
- Google – my email (Google Workspace), and the YouTube videos embedded on the site.
Some of these services store information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. I choose reputable providers that take care of the information they hold.
If you buy through Etsy or another marketplace, that marketplace’s privacy policy applies to the information you give them.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website.
- Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout and account working. The shop can’t work without them.
- YouTube may set cookies when you play one of the embedded videos.
- PayPal sets its own cookies when you pay with it.
I don’t use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout need them to work. If I add analytics or other cookies later, I’ll update this policy.
5. How long I keep it
- Order records for at least five years, because the law requires me to keep business and tax records.
- Newsletter details until you unsubscribe.
- Messages and enquiries for as long as I need them to help you.
- Your account until you ask me to close it.
6. Keeping it safe
The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website or online service can be completely secure, though.
7. Your choices
- You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct it.
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter.
- You can ask me to delete your account and personal information. I may need to keep some order records to meet my legal obligations.
To do any of these, email me at megan@megmakes.me.
8. Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about your privacy, please contact me first at megan@megmakes.me and I’ll do my best to sort it out. If you’re not happy with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
